Acceptable use policy and DSA notice procedure

This policy applies to accounts, uploads, AI inputs and published content on Carta.

1. Prohibited use

  • illegal, fraudulent or misleading content and offers
  • infringement of copyright, trade marks, personality, privacy or other rights
  • knowingly false or dangerous information about prices, allergens, additives or food
  • malware, automated attacks, circumvention of access controls or unauthorised system testing
  • special-category or criminal-offence data without a separate agreement
  • systematic extraction or copying to develop a competing service

2. Notice of illegal content

Notices should be sent to hey@carta.so with subject “Illegal content”. They should include the exact URL or restaurant/dish identifier, a reasoned explanation of illegality, the notifier’s name and email, and a statement that the information is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge. For sexual abuse material or similarly protected reports, a name may be omitted where provided by law.

3. Handling and measures

Carta acknowledges electronic notices and reviews them promptly, diligently, objectively and proportionately. Measures may include questions, temporary restriction, removal, account suspension or no action. Where required, affected users are informed of the decision, its factual basis, any automation used and available remedies. Carta is not subject to a general monitoring obligation.
